Bathroom Remodeling for Randolph Homeowners

Randolph is where Route 44 goes after it leaves Marlboro, and it is the northernmost place we work. It is a Portage County township, twenty-nine square miles, a small village center along 44, and everything else on township roads on lots that run an acre to five. The Waterloo school campus is one township east in Atwater, on Waterloo Road, and Randolph kids ride there.

The bathrooms come in two ages, far apart. A sixth of the houses were standing before 1940: the village houses along 44 and John Street, and the farmhouses on Hartville Road and the roads out toward St. Joseph, with a bathroom that was added after the house was built, a cast iron drain running the long way, and one full bath for the whole family. Then there is the nineties wave, a fifth of the township, houses on two to five acres out New Milford Road and the like, with a builder master bath that has aged out all at once: garden tub, oak vanity, small tiled shower.

Nearly every one of them is on a well and a septic system. That is not a problem. It is two questions on the first call. Joseph Evans does the work himself from the shop in Uniontown, Stark County, about twenty minutes down 44 and 619, and the first call is fifteen to thirty minutes and ends with a real range.

Client Reviews

What Northeast Ohio Homeowners Say

"I truly wish I could give this young man 100 stars. He is VERY dedicated to doing the job right. I could tell from day one that he treated this room in my home like it was in his own home. My husband and I have been do it ourself people for over twenty years. He is 100% disabled now but Joe took the time to listen and do exactly what I asked of him. My husband's smile when he saw the room finished was a true blessing. Thank you for the great job you did on this half bath that will now serve as bathroom and first floor laundry. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!"

Julie Perry

"Joe with Redeemed Contracting recently completed a remodel of our very outdated master bath. We were very impressed from the start - Joe met with us to hear our ideas, formulated a plan and presented a very reasonable quote. He was very responsive to any questions and ideas and had great communication throughout the project. We are thrilled with Joe's work and the end result, and will use Redeemed again. We highly recommend Joe and his team at Redeemed Contracting!"

Sue Serbin

Hartville, OH

"Joe and his team greatly deserve this 5-star review. I wish I could give more stars to be honest. Great communication, craftsmenship, and value. Top notch profesional contractor in Northeast Ohio!"

What a Randolph bathroom runs into

The well, first. Hard well water is the normal condition out here, and a new shower valve and faucet on an unsoftened line will scale in a year, so we talk softener before we talk fixtures. Then the septic. A second bathroom does not add a bedroom, so the bedroom count does not come into it, but the tank and the leach field decide where a new drain can run, and on a farmhouse lot we locate both before we plan. In the pre-war houses the drain is cast iron and the floor is not level, and the tile shower goes in on a Schluter waterproofing system because a pan that moves on an old floor is a leak waiting to happen. In the nineties houses the layout stays, the garden tub goes, and a tile shower with a bench takes its footprint.
